A shooting incident occurred at a parking lot of a shopping center in El Cajon, California on Saturday evening, as confirmed by police officials. The incident left a 16-year-old injured.
According to the El Cajon police department, the Parkway Plaza shopping mall, located at 400 Fletcher Parkway, was the scene of an active shooter at about 4:30 p.m. The San Diego Sheriff’s Office (SDSO) was also called in order to help. When they arrived on the scene, investigators came to the conclusion that there was not an active shooter present; rather, there had been a gun assault.
According to SDSO, the victim sought refuge at a neighboring Halloween shop after the event, while the suspect ran away and is still at large. Around 6:30 p.m., the El Cajon Police Department announced on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) that the victim had been taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening wounds. Sheriff’s deputies from San Diego stayed on the site to aid El Cajon police in their investigations.

Meanwhile, another shooting incident occurred in the area of W. Chicago and Greenfield Road in Detroit at around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The incident claimed the life of one person, while two other people were hurt. One victim was declared dead on the spot by medical officials, while the other two victims were swiftly transferred to a nearby hospital for emergency care. Their conditions have not changed recently, thus no updates are available.
Local law enforcement has not yet disclosed any details about potential suspects or the circumstances of the incident’s prelude. The Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Division is aggressively investigating the matter.
The incident took place at W Chicago and Greenfield Road at about 4:30 p.m., a Detroit Police Department official said. The homicide branch of the department is continuously working on the investigation.
