The executive producer of the popular television show Scrubs, Eric Weinberg pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting five women on Tuesday, October 25, and was denied bail subsequently. As per the prosecutors, Weinberg lured the women to photo shoots, when he assaulted them sexually.

Weinberg was remanded into custody after being arrested earlier in October. He is being charged with 18 counts of felony that include rape, forcible sexual penetration, oral copulation, false imprisonment and sexual battery by restraint and others, the district attorney’s office revealed.

However, he pleaded not guilty to these charges on Tuesday when his attorneys argued for the release of the producer before the upcoming hearing.

Weinberg was described as a potential danger to society by the prosecutors, which was agreed by Superior Court Judge Victoria B Wilson, who in turn remanded the producer to custody until his next court appearance. The next time Weinberg will make his court appearance is on November 15.

The 62-year-old has previously been charged with similar attacks between 2014-19. As per the investigators, his attacks could be dating back to the 1990s, District Attorney George Gascon revealed at a conference on October 6. The DA also requested victims who were sexually assaulted by Weinberg to come forward.

Detective Ryan Lamar of the Los Angeles Police Department recently revealed that the investigating officers were probing information that was received from a tip line in connection with other alleged assaults by Weinberg.

Weinberg is known widely for the popular television show Scrubs and as per IMDB, he was the co-executive producer of almost 100 episodes of the NBC drama-comedy for six years between 2000-06. The website also suggested that the 62-year-old wrote almost 12 episodes for the show.
