Far-right media personality Tim Gionet, who is renowned by the handle “Baked Alaska,” was arrested on Friday by the FBI in Houston, Texas, and charged with participating in the violent US Capitol riots on January 6.

According to a sworn statement filed by an FBI agent, Gionet livestreamed a 27-minute video from the Capitol using the “DLive” service, Reuters reported.

Gionet did not put much effort to hide his identity, according to the statement, rather he “turned the phone around to show his face and is clearly identifiable.”

According to reports, the affidavit quotes comments from Gionet on the video, including, “We are in the Capitol Building. 1776 will commence again” and “America First is inevitable.”

The case is not listed on the federal court’s public database and no attorney could be identified.

Gionet, 33, launched his career at BuzzFeed in 2015 but soon left after turning to the far right.

Till now over 70 arrests have been made in relation to the riots, and at least 170 cases have been opened after pro-Trump mob breached the Capitol on the day when the certification of the November 3 election results was in progress. Many of the mob participants have been easily identified through their social media posts.
