US President Joe Biden made an unannounced visit to the Ford driving school in Michigan’s Dearborn on Tuesday and tested out the automobile manufacturer’s new F-150 Lighting vehicle, an electric automobile due for launch on Wednesday.
The facility, which is conventionally used to conduct safety tests of vehicles, saw America’s Commander-in-Chief in action, sporting the usual Biden-style aviators and speeding around the track. However, the Secret Service was seen trailing the President to ensure his safety.

After an initial round around the track, Biden pulled up the vehicle around reports, lowered the car windows and said, “This sucker’s quick”, showing the rarely witnessed informal side of the President. He later again sped up the vehicle past the reports going for another lap around the track.
After the unplanned visit to the facility, the White House’s Twitter handle posted a picture of the President with the caption giving a brief insight into the visit. It read, “The future of the auto industry is electric — and it’s made in America. The American Jobs Plan is the investment we need in job training and R&D to win the future of the electric vehicle market.”

Biden later said that the visit to Ford’s Rouge Electric Vehicle Centre had brought him home, further explaining his father’s job at a car dealership in his home state Delaware.
