Nonprofit and nonpartisan group ‘Pizza to the Polls’ has pledged to not let any US voter go hungry and has already delivered over 13,800 pizzas to 748 polling places in 36 states this year, reported Fox News.

According to a spokesperson, a hungry voter can tweet at Pizza to the Polls to report long lines at polling sites, preferably with a photo, confirm the location, and a nearby restaurant will deliver the food within about 90 minutes of the line being reported.

For its signature on-demand program in all the 50 states, the group has pledged to deliver pizzas to “any polling place in the US, as long as we can find a delivery place that services that location.” Once delivered, anyone including poll workers, poll watchers, voters, kids can dig in.

In a separate pitch, the group has partnered with food delivery chain Uber Eats to operate a fleet of food trucks in as many as 29 cities to deliver free eats from Oct. 29 to Nov. 3.

According to the spokesperson, the trucks, during the six days, will stop by cities including Phoenix, Los Angeles, Miami, Tampa and Orlando.

The group said, “For those in cities where trucks are not available, Pizza to the Polls will collaborate with local restaurants to deliver some snacks and good vibes.”

Although the group has served pizza since 2016, it feels its mission is more important now with a surge in voter enthusiasm.
