Within a few minutes of starting, the fire, which was contained to the transformer area, was put out. Fortunately, the fire brigade has established that no studio buildings were damaged by the flames.
The incident on the Warner Bros. Studios lot was certainly a transformer fire, according to Battalion Chief Dave Burke of the Burbank Fire Department, and it has been put out. The fire was successfully put out nearly in 30 minutes after the fire department received the initial alarm at 1:38 pm. No buildings were damaged, and there were no injuries associated with the incident.

According to a Warner Bros. (WBD) spokesperson, as a precautionary measure, they have decided to send all staff home, particularly because it is a summer Friday when most staff members would typically be off. The representative added that an investigation will be done, however, it is currently thought that the fire was started by a transmitter that had blown. Unusually close to the studio’s own fire station, the incident took place in a small region at one of the lot’s furthest edges.
The timing of this incident corresponds with a heatwave that is expected in the area, which marks the first substantial heatwave in what has otherwise been a rather mild summer in Southern California. Over the weekend, temperatures in Burbank is expected to hit 90 degrees, while the valleys around Los Angeles could perhaps approach triple digits.
Several Twitter users shared clips and images of the incident. One user tweeted, “Explosion and #fire at Warner Bros studios. Was a big boom and my power flickered”
