A large fire broke out at an apartment complex that was still under construction in the southwest Las Vegas Valley at around 4:29 p.m. on Tuesday. A number of Clark County Fire Department units arrived at the spot.

The fire is at 8030 W. Maule Ave., near South Buffalo Drive and the 215 Beltway, Clark County Fire Department Kelly Blackmon said in a statement.

The three right lanes on I-215 South before Buffalo Drive are shut, according to RTC.

According to the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD), numerous calls began to come in around 4:30 p.m.

Initial reports from first aid teams place the scene at Las Vegas’ 8000 Block of West Maule Avenue.

Due to the intensity of the fire at the scene, a second alarm was raised after the fire department arrived. Wind gusts from the southwest were measured to be between 20 and 25 mph close to the fire.

A Fire Department spokesperson was expected to address reporters at the scene of the fire Tuesday evening.
