Michael Cohen, the former attorney of Donald Trump, spoke to Stormy Daniels, an adult movie star, in his broadcast about her alleged fling with the former US President prior to his term in office. The lawyer helped pay a ‘hush amount’ to Daniels.

Cohen apologised for his actions on the podcast and said, “I know I put you through needless pain. For that, I am truly apologetic.” He later expressed his gratitude towards Daniels and added, “Thank you for giving me a second chance. I do really appreciate it”, reported AFP.

Cohen, who represented Trump for over ten years, was charged with offenses like paying a sum of $130,000 to buy the silence from Daniels and was sentenced to a total of three years in 2018, as is currently under house arrest due to the pandemic.

He has been regularly broadcasting a podcast from his home since September.

In the released podcast, Daniels recalled her engagement with Trump in 2006 and called it “The worst 90 seconds of my life”.

Daniels, whose off the stage name is Stephanie Clifford, expressed her regret with the relationship she shared with Trump and said, “if I had a magic wand and could go back to the way it was before I would absolutely do that.”

With Trump’s Presidential term concluded in January, the adult film star fears that a “second wave” of controversy is inbound towards her.

“A lot of the stalling that was happening in my cases was because this had never happened before,” she explained, adding that the legal system “didn’t know how to do something to a sitting president”, reported AFP.

“I believe it’s just about to kick off again,” she told Cohen.
