Southern states of  Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas are set to be affected by a severe weather outbreak. Weather forecast predicts strong tornadoes along with widespread damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding

Storm reports:

A line of severe thunderstorms travelled through North Texas on Thursday with winds of up to 70 miles per hour that toppled power lines and damaged homes. W​ind gusts are currently moving through the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A 76 mph wind gust was recently reported at Dallas’ Love Field airport.

Tornado reports:

A tornado was in effect near  Talco, Texas from the afternoon until 10 pm. It impacted over nine million people in North Texas, including Dallas, and parts of southeast Oklahoma and southwest Arkansas. A reported tornado also hit just southeast of Shreveport, Louisiana, early Thursday evening.

The National Weather Service (NWS) stated that “a few tornadoes” were likely for those areas, along with the threat of hail the size of apples and wind gusts up to 75 m.p.h. 

Severe thunderstorm monitors are in effect in portions of central and southeast Texas, including Austin, San Antonio and Houston. Large hail and damaging winds are expected in this area.

The highest threat of severe thunderstorms appears to be Thursday night across parts of the Deep South. Followed by a round of tornadoes and hail a blow of severe storms and tornadoes will track eastward to the lower Mississippi valley into the overnight hours.

Heavy rains may result in flash flooding in eastern Oklahoma and northeast Texas, Arkansas, southeastern Missouri, western Kentucky and Tennessee. 

Expected damages on Friday:

Some parts near the Ohio Valley expect severe thunderstorms on Friday. Areas from eastern Mississippi into Alabama, Georgia, far northern Florida, Tennessee, the Carolinas, southwestern Virginia, southern West Virginia, Kentucky and parts of southern Ohio and Indiana are warned in this alert.
