Country Music Hall of Famer Garth Brooks, who was all set to headline a record-breaking concert at Nissan Stadium on Saturday night, has rescheduled his concert as severe thunderstorms rolled hit Nashville.
More than 70,000 people were suppose to attend the Brooks concert, according to US media reports. For Brooks, this was a homecoming as he would have performed just a few blocks away from his house at Nissan Stadium, at one of the largest music events in Nashville since COVID-19 restrictions were lifted earlier this year.

Nissan Stadium official handle tweeted, “The Garth Brooks concert at Nissan Stadium has been postponed due to existing and forecasted weather. We are working with local officials in an attempt to reschedule for tomorrow night.”
The statement further read, “Unfortunately we were unable to secure adequate safety personnel and provide our standard of fan experience in order to move forward with the concert on Sunday evening. We look forward to sharing the rescheduled date in the near future.”

Concert-goers were asked to shelter inside the stadium concourse, where some kicked off singalongs to Brooks’ biggest hits while waiting out heavy rain and lightning in the crowded halls.
The crowd waited for more than an hour before the venue announced a postponement.
According to the statement, purchased tickets and Nissan Stadium parking passes will be honoured at the rescheduled date.
Talking about the coronavirus protocols, Brooks had said the tour is going to follow state, local and venue COVID-19 guidelines. However, Nashville leaders have said there are no plans to mandate any COVID related rules, the responsibility lies with the citizens to do what health leaders recommend will slow the spread of the virus – getting vaccinated and wearing a mask around others.
