The trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin had to be adjourned till Tuesday as the witness testimony was cut short due to a “major technical glitch” that impacted the video feed, Judge Peter Cahill said.

The trial will resume on Tuesday with the remaining testimony of Donald Wynn Williams II, who testified on Monday that he witnessed George Floyd’s death.

Williams told the court that he went to Cup Foods where he saw Floyd being restrained by police. He added that he witnessed Floyd gasping for air, his eyes roll to the back of his head, and blood start to come out of his nose.

“Just hearing people, different people, actually vocalizing their concerns to the officer, and hearing George on the ground, pretty much pleading for his life,” Williams said according to a CNN report.

Williams told the court that he was among the crowd that vocally pleaded for Floyd’s life.

He also said that Officer Tou Thao stated to the crowd, “this is what drugs do to you.”

Williams, who said he was a high school and college wrestler who pursued mixed martial arts, said he has worked with police officers in his security job and trained with them in mixed martial arts at a gym, CNN reported.

Williams told the court about different types of chokeholds and his experience with them in his mixed martial arts training and career.

He said the move Chauvin was using on Floyd “looked like a blood choke.”
