Golfer Michelle Wie West has hit out at former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani for his “unsettling” comments on her underwear. Giuliani appeared on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast during which he recalled an incident when he and his late friend Rush Limbaugh noticed paparazzi following them and then observed West “bending over and showing her panties.”

“She has a strange putting stance, she bends all the way over and her panties show. The press was going crazy because they were trying to take pictures of her panties. I said, Roger, it’s not me, it’s not you, it’s her panties!” the 76-year-old said in the radio show.

Soon, the 2014 US Women’s Open champion took to Twitter to hit out at him for his comments.

“What this person should have remembered from that day was the fact that I shot 64 and beat every male golfer in the field leading our team to victory,” she wrote.

“I shudder thinking that he was smiling to my face and complimenting me on my game while objectifying me and referencing my ‘panties’ behind my back all day. What should be discussed is the elite skill level of female professionals rather than what they wear or their appearance,” she added.
