A chemical engineer who went on a racist and homophobic rant on a plane has been fired from GSK, reported TMZ. The person, dressed in a black, round-necked shirt, had boarded a plane that was scheduled to fly from Philadelphia to Dallas. After he continued berating his co-passengers, the person was asked to deboard the flight as well. The entire episode took play on Tuesday night (local time).

In the video, the person is heard saying, “Obviously I’m the white male that picked the black bag because I’m racist”. He goes on to point to a black bag he is carrying and remarks that most of his co-passengers would not be able to afford the kind of bag he is carrying, his exact comments being that his bag is “a better bag than most of y’all can afford.” The clip was originally posted on Reddit under a subreddit called “r/americanairlines”. It has now been posted on Twitter:

The said individual even began calling his passengers “liberal f******”. Post this fiasco, when he was deboarding the plane as per the instructions of the flight attendants, the man reportedly exclaimed that he is a chemical engineer working for the pharmaceutical giant, GSK.

TMZ spoke to the company who then said that the comments the individual had made were “reprehensible” and did not reflect the company’s culture. The person was also fired from his position. The company also posted on Twitter about the incident:

The company further added, “At GSK, diversity, equity and inclusion is embraced and celebrated and we are committed in policy, principle and practice to maintaining an environment which prohibits discriminatory behavior and provides equal opportunity for all persons.” The individuals identity has not been revealed yet.
