US President Donald Trump on Monday defended the actions of Kyle Rittenhouse, who is accused of killing two protesters and injuring another with a semi-automatic rifle in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Describing the incident as an ‘ interesting situation,’ the President said that Rittenhouse was acting in self-defence and added that he was very violently attacked by the Kenosha protesters.

“We’re looking at all of it. That was an interesting situation. You saw the same tape as I saw,” the president told reporters during a news conference at the White House.
Trump further said that Rittenhouse looked troubled in the video that is being circulated on social media.
“And it was something that we’re looking at right now, and it’s under investigation. But I guess he was in very big trouble. He probably would have been killed, but it’s under investigation,” he said.

However, the President said that he would like to see everything be taken care of by law enforcement instead of private citizens. Trump is scheduled to visit Kenosha on Tuesday despite the governor’s warning that it ‘will only hinder their healing.
Wisconsin was gripped by protest after Jacob Blake, a Black man was shot seven times in the back by police officer Rusten Sheskey, as they were attempting to arrest him.

Earlier, media pundit Ann Coulter, Political commentator Tucker Carlson and San Francisco Giants player Aubrey Huff also had supported the teenager. Coulter had said that she would like to see Rittenhouse as her president, while Huff called him ‘national treasure.’
