In May, the jury agreed with the prosecution’s claim that Vallow Daybell, 50, wanted to get rid of her youngest children in order to start a new life with Chad Daybell. The prosecution also claimed that Daybell conspired to kill Tammy Daybell, Daybell’s first wife.
Her children — Tylee Ryan and Joshua Jaxon “JJ” Vallow — had been “burned, mutilated and dismembered, and buried like animals,” Boyce said.
Murder of JJ Vallow
When questioned on Wednesday in the trial of JJ Vallow’s murder, a forensic pathologist who performed an autopsy on the boy’s body claimed that he died of asphyxia.
According to Dr. Garth Warren, the 7-year-old died from suffocation brought on by having duct tape covering his mouth and a plastic bag over his head.
Warren explained during his interrogation that they discovered a white plastic bag covering JJ’s head with duct tape when they received his body for the autopsy. His hands, ankles, and forearms were all wrapped in duct tape.
Once the autopsy was finished, clothing, duct tape, the plastic bag, hair, and teeth were provided to the police.
There were no symptoms of illness or injuries to internal organs, including those in the ribcage and lungs.
Murder of Tylee Ryan
The cause of death for Tylee Ryan, JJ’s sister, was judged to be a homicide by an undefined method, according to Warren’s testimony, according to East Idaho News.
He explained how the 16-year-old’s bones, which were extensively burnt and destroyed, were brought to him in a variety of bags.
According to Warren, during the autopsy they searched for any possible pieces of evidence, such as bullets, a piece of a knife, or other debris. Instead, they only came across a group of bones covered in muck and filth.
According to Warren’s testimony, there is no evidence to suggest that Tylee was alive when her body was burned, according to the East Idaho News.
