Search was underway for the suspect after two men were shot in Huntley, Illinois, early Monday. 

The incident took place just before 4.20 am at a residence on 11800 block of Cape Cod Lane.

Deputies responded to the scene after receiving reports of two people shot. The Huntley Fire Protection District too arrived at the residence. 

Deputy Police Chief Linda Hooten said the suspect fled the scene in unknown vehicle before officers arrived, Lake & Mchenry County Scanner reported.

Medics provided medical aid to the victims, who were rushed to local hospitals in ambulances. Their condition was not known.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the suspect drove to the home and approached the front door when gunfire ensued. He then fled the scene. 

Hooten told the outlet that it did not appear to be a random incident and “is specific to this location.”

Deputies with the Huntley Police Department along with McHenry County Major Investigative Assistance Team were investigating the incident.
