The Dixie wildfire has become the second-largest wildfire in the history of California state and the largest wildfire currently burning in the United States. The wildfire, which started on 13 July, has since ravaged over 489,000 acres (198,000 hectares), with only 21% of the blaze contained as of Sunday. The town of Greenville was almost completely destroyed in the fire. As of Sunday, at least eight people were put on the missing list and rescue operations were underway to find them.
