Thousands of demonstrators gathered at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on Friday at a commemoration of the 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. This day also marks the 57th anniversary of historic civil rights speech ‘I have a dream’ by Martin Luther King. The demonstration “Commitment March: Get Your Knee Off Our Necks” was organised by the National Action Network and was joined by the families of George Floyd, Jacob Blake, Breonna Taylor, and Eric Garner.
Yolanda Renee King, the granddaughter of Martin Luther King Jr., vowed to “fulfill her grandfather’s dream.”
