Audrey Hale has been identified as the Covenant School, Nashville shooting suspect, NBC News reported, quoting law enforcement sources. Three students and as many school staff members died in the incident.

Several Twitter users immediately pointed out that 28-year-old Nashville shooter is a biological female who identifies as “He/Him” on their LinkedIn. Authorities believe the transgender shooter previously attended the Christian school.

“The female Nashville shooter identifies as a man. So shouldn’t we just blame white men again?” Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted.

Nashville police has officially confirmed that the school shooter – Audrey Hale – was a transgender women.

“Police have formally identified Nashville Christian school shooter as Audrey Elisabeth Hale, 28, a resident of Nashville and a transgender (a biological female who identified as He/Him (as male),” a reporter covering Chief John Drake’s press conference tweeted.

“Despite all their talk about the violence transgender people face, it was a transgender person who attacked a Christian school and murdered Christian children. Food for…” a Twitter user said.

“So THIS is the Nashville Shooter. Transgender AUDREY HALE. Authorities BELIEVE the Gender thing may have played a ROLE here. Didn’t we have a MASS SHOOTING in Denver by a “non-binary” individual? FULL INVESTIGATION! ASK QUESTIONS!” another one tweeted.

Audrey Hale was a Nashville resident and was armed with two assault-style rifles and a handgun when she was confronted by five officers, Metropolitan Nashville Police Chief John Drake said. The 28-year-old attended the Covenant School but it is unclear when. Police said an online profile listed her as working in Commercial Illustration and Graphic Design.

Officers said that they received a call about an active shooter at 10:13 AM. They were quick to clear the first floor of the school after hearing gunshots coming from the second. Hale was shot by police officers at 10:27 AM, officials said.
