Ron DeSantis is reportedly lobbying for a Republican National Committee (RNC) rule change, banning anyone under indictment from receiving a nomination. The move seems to be his step against former President Donald Trump, who was recently arraigned in the classified documents case.

While the reports are unconfirmed, several social media users are reacting. Neither DeSantis nor his team has issued a statement yet.

“New: Team DeSantis is lobbying for an RNC rule change that would ban anyone under indictment from receiving the nomination, per Rich Baris,” a Twitter user said.

“BREAKING NOW: Reports emerging that Team DeSantis is lobbying for a RULE CHANGE at the RNC that would BAN ANYONE UNDER INDICTMENT from receiving the nomination.. Can’t BEAT them.. CHEAT them..” another one added.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to hold a lead over DeSantis in New Hampshire, as per a new poll taken after he was arraigned in Miami. The former President has a 47% support, according to New Hampshire Journal / coefficient poll.

He is dominating the Republican field, which includes Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Larry Elder, Tim Scott, Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, Chris Christie, Doug Burgum and Francis X. Suarez, in other primary states too.

Donald Trump on Tuesday evening spoke at Bedminster, New Jersey, to denounce his latest criminal indictment. He delivered a roughly 30-minutes speech. People sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for him.

DeSantis on the other hand used his budget veto power to retaliate against them for not supporting his bid to become the GOP’s nominee in next year’s general election.
