Hours after several media houses projected Democrat Joe Biden the winner of the US elections after he crossed the threshold of garnering 270 electoral votes, son-in-law of Donald Trump and his senior adviser, Jared Kushner, approached the President about conceding the election, CNN reported quoting sources.

After Biden was declared the President-elect, Trump, in a statement, said that the 77-year-old Democrat is “rushing to falsely pose as the winner”, adding that the presidential race is “far from over.” Although, Trump was playing golf at the Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Virginia when his office released this statement.

“The simple fact is this election is far from over,” Trump said in the statement.

Trump has refused to concede and has made claims of widespread election and illegal voting fraud. So far the Republicans have not delivered the evidence.

The US President said his campaign will take to the courts on Monday to “ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated.” Republicans are alleging fraud in Pennsylvania, where they say thousands of late-arriving mail-in ballots were illegally counted.

“I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands,” the Republican said in the statement, which was released by his campaign.

According to CNN, since the presidential race was called on Saturday, there has been no communication between Biden and Trump, or between any representatives from either’s campaign,  Kate Bedingfield, the deputy campaigner manager of Biden-Harris, said.
