Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden is currently leading incumbent Donald Trump in vote count in key swing states of Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada and Georgia, as per a New York Times report.

With more than 96% votes counted, the 20 electoral seats in Pennsylvania will play an integral role in determining whether President Trump retains the White House or America elects a new 46th President of the United States.

A victory in the swing states of Pennsylvania and Georgia will be enough for the former vice-president Joe Biden to clinch the White House, who currently has 253 electoral college votes.

Despite 74,225,264 votes to his name, and his lead of 4 million popular votes, the final result of the 2020 US presidential election is yet to be declared.

In Pennsylvania, where former president Barack Obama, a democrat, won in 2008 and 2012, President Trump, a Republican, won by a margin of 45,000 plus votes in 2016 on his road to the White House.

Currently, in the Keystone state, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has a slender lead over his rival Donald Trump. With 96% votes counted, Joe Biden has a 19,000 plus margin in the state, as per New York Times.

The remaining mail-in ballots are expected to favour the Democrats, says the New York Times report. It said, quoting the secretary of the commonwealth, most votes would be counted by Friday (US time), adding that it would take Philadelphia officials a few more days to complete the count.

With 96% of the votes counted in Philadelphia county, the county that was voted overwhelmingly for 77-year-old Joe Biden, has always voted for Democrats since the turn of the century.

In the state of Georgia, often referred to as a conservative stronghold, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has a slender lead of 4,000 votes, as per New York Times. Election officials have already announced a recount given the razor thin Biden lead in the state. With 98% of the total votes in the state counted, Democratic nominee Biden has secured 2,456,845 votes as opposed to rival Trump’s 2,452,825.

Also in the swing states of Arizona and Nevada, Joe Biden enjoys a lead over his rival Donald Trump. While several media houses have already called the race in Arizona, awarding its 11 electoral college votes to Joe Biden, with 94% of the votes counted in the state, Joe Biden has a lead of over 35,000 votes, as per New York Times report.

In Nevada, a state with 6 electoral college votes, Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has a comfortable 20,000 plus lead, as a New York Times report. With 93% of the votes counted, Biden has 632,558 votes to his name. Officials of Clark County, where tens of thousands of ballots are yet to be counted, have stated that they plan to release results twice a day going forward, as per a New York Times report.

Clark County remains a Democratic stronghold with the county voting blue since the turn of the century.

In the state of North Carolina, it’s advantage President Donald Trump, with 98% votes counted, the President has a significant lead of over 70,000 votes, as per New York Times report. The incumbent will add the states 15 electoral votes to his tally of 214 to close in on Joe Biden when the final results are announced.

With more than 144,445,593 votes counted, American is yet to declare the final result of the 2020 US presidential election as key swing states of Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada hang in the balance.
