Actor Jonah Hill was spotted leaving dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica on Tuesday night. Despite being in a good mood and flashing a big smile, he was not in the mood for questions from paparazzi waiting outside, particularly about his recent mention by controversial artist Kanye West.

West had attributed his newfound appreciation for Jewish people to watching Hill’s performance in the 2012 film “21 Jump Street”. When asked about West’s recent social media post, Hill did not respond, suggesting that he did not want to engage in the conversation.

It is worth noting that Hill has been open about his struggles with mental health and has recently taken a step back from social media. In a new documentary, “Stutz,” he speaks at length about the anxiety he faces on a regular basis. Despite this, it is encouraging to see him out and about.

West’s social media post was his first this year, following a string of antisemitic rants that led to him losing access to his accounts. In an Instagram post, he expressed his appreciation for Hill’s performance in “21 Jump Street,” saying that it made him like Jewish people again.

He also condemned the practice of taking anger against individuals and turning it into hatred towards millions of innocent people, though it is unclear who he was referring to. West also asserted that no Christian can be labeled an antisemite, given that Jesus was Jewish.

West’s previous antisemitic remarks had already cost him lucrative deals with Adidas and others, and had led to widespread condemnation, including from the Anti-Defamation League. The organization reported dozens of antisemitic incidents tied to West in the US since he began his screeds against Jews, including incidents of assault and hate speech.
