A rally planned in support of the January 6 insurrection rioters has law enforcement agencies on their toes even as organisers insist that its going to be peaceful. The only two guest speakers confirmed for the ‘Justice for J6’ rally at the US Capitol include lesser-known Republican congressional candidates Mike Collins from Georgia and Joe Kent from Washington state, according to organisers, conservative political organization, Look Ahead America. Family members of people held on rioting and other charges during the Capitol Hill siege are also expected to speak at the event.

On Friday, Collins, who owns a trucking company in Jackson, launched a tirade against “liberal left-wing wackos, RINOS, elites  and even the Republican establishment.”

Collins, whose father Mac Collins was a Republican congressman from 1993-2005, kicked off his campaign on September 16.

He ran for election to the 10th Congressional District in 2014, losing to Jody Hice in the primary runoff after winning the Republican primary.

On Twitter, ‘Justice for J6’ organiser and former Trump campaign staffer Matt Braynard lauded Collins for his “courage to speak at our September 18th Rally at the US Capitol.”

Joe Kent, who is challenging Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler in Washington state, tweeted on Friday that he was speaking at the Justice for J6 rally for “political prisoners” because constitutional rights were being “denied to hundreds of Americans due to their political affiliation & a narrative based on lies.”

In another tweet, he urged people to show up at the rally if “we want things to change.”
