Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to Twitter to complain about the lack of respect after she was “attacked” by an “insane” woman in a restaurant on Monday night.

“I was attacked in a restaurant tonight by an insane women and screamed at by her adult son,” Greene said in a tweet. “They had no respect for the restaurant or the staff or the other people dining or people like me who simply have different political views. I was sitting at my table, working with my staff, and never even noticed these people until they turned into demons. People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore. Our country is gone.”

Other details like where the alleged incident happened or if he reported the same to the police were not provided by Greene. Her tweet got a lot of backlash on Twitter where an overwhelming number of users reminded her of her behavior at the State of the Union speech delivered by President Joe Biden earlier this month.

The congresswoman was caught on camera standing up and shouting “liar!” during the POTUS’ remarks after he accused “not even a majority” of Republicans of wanting to cut Social Security and Medicare’s funding. While some called the attack on Greene at the restaurant her “karma,” others called her a hypocrite for not holding herself to the same standards as she wanted others to behave with her.

Greene also infamously heckled during Biden’s first State of the Union address in 2022. She and fellow right-wing congresswoman Lauren Boebert caused disruptions including at one point an unsuccessful attempt to start a “build the wall” chant.
