A homicide was reported at a home in the 4200 block of Laurel oak road in Chesterfield, Virginia, on Friday morning, multiple reports claim. Chesterfield Police responded to the incident at around 5 am local time and found more than one victim.

The initial call reported that a ‘disturbance’ at the house and the police found bodies on arrival which they believe to be the victims of homicide. No additional details has been released by the police, including the possible identity of the suspect.

Laurel Oak Road, which is near Hopkins Road and Route 288, has been closed off till further notice. Detectives are at the scene and the investigation into the incident is underway.

Major Mike Louth, a representative of Chesterfield Police, said that they don’t believe the incident to be a ‘random act’. He added that the police are still trying to notify the next of kin.

“We’re still working out all the details of the family dynamics,” he said.

“At this point, we’re investigating this as a homicide,” police spokeswoman Elizabeth Caroon said.

Local users on Twitter are reporting that nearby houses have been asked by the police to check their ring cameras to see if anything suspicious has been recorded.  

About 17 miles (27 kilometres) south of Richmond is Chester, which is a portion of Chesterfield County.
