On Saturday, Graham, who has had a sporadic relationship with Trump over the years, praised the “common ground” they have discovered.
The South Carolina senator, who once referred Donald Trump as a “race-baiting, xenophobic religious bigot” during the 2016 presidential campaign, later emerged as one of the president’s staunchest allies in the Senate.
Lindsey Graham has been involved in various legislative efforts aligned with Trump’s agenda, including immigration reform, tax cuts, and judicial nominations. He has often been seen as a reliable ally of the former president and has played a significant role in shaping Republican policies and strategies during Trump’s tenure. He was one of the key figures in advocating for Trump’s policies and defending him during his impeachment trials.
