Maison Des Champs, a 22-year-old student who calls himself ‘Pro-Life Spiderman‘, climbed the Devon Tower, which is Oklahoma‘s tallest building, on Tuesday morning in a protest against abortion. He live-streamed the act on Instagram.

Once he reached the top of the 844-foot building, he was met by first responders and police.

The area near the building was briefly blocked. The act also interrupted the flow of downtown traffic as several vehicles stopped to observe the climb.

“We are aware of an individual climbing the Devon Tower downtown. Please avoid the area, as a precaution our officers have closed streets near the site,” Oklahoma City Police said in a tweet.

Speaking to the Okhlaahoman, Shalaina Jackson, a witness said, she was enjoying a coffee at the nearby Neighborhood Jam when someone told her that a man was climbing the tower. She immediately left the restaurant and rushed to the scene to witness the climb.

“I was very shocked,” Jackson told the outlet. “Everybody at the restaurant says he wasn’t going to make it that far. I don’t want him to fall.”

Jessica Nelson, another witness, told the outlet that she was taking her in-law’s dog on a run when she looked up and saw the man scaling the building.

“I don’t know how it relates to being anti-abortion, but he’s a really good climber. All these city resources (being used) because he’s up there, I’m just glad he didn’t fall.” Nelson told the outlet.

Maison Des Champs is not new to climbing buildings. In April this year, he was arrested after he climbed one of California’s tallest buildings, the Salesforce Tower in San Francisco.
