As per recent reports by the Bryan Police Department, seven victims have been confirmed in the Thursday mass shooting in  Texas. One person was killed.

As per local reports, the attacker ran away after the incident. The local Bryan Police Department said several victims were in critical condition, reported The Eagle. 

Chief Eric Buske said at least one person lost their life and five people shot. Four of them were taken to the hospital in critical condition and the fifth was in “non-critical” condition, reported CNN.  As per reports, a sixth person was taken to the hospital due to an asthma attack. 

However, later CNN reported that one person was taken into custody after a trooper was shot near Grimes County, adding the incident may be connected to the industrial park shooting.

Earlier, Jason James, Bryan Police Department Lt. said in a short press conference, “Officers responded, they found several victims, and they were checking the area, check the building looking for more victims. This is a fluid event so we’re still trying to get some more information.”

He further said, “It’s a business so there’s a lot of employees that were inside and (police are) investigating who saw what and how it all transpired.”

Bryan Police Department tweeted about the incident as well. 

“We’re trying to find the connection to him and this business, and then we’ll be able to figure out exactly who we’re looking for and be able to get that out to the public,” James said while talking about the shooter who is at large. 

Governor Greg Abbott released a statement to condemn the shooting. He took to Twitter and said, “Cecilia & I are praying for the victims & their families & for the injured officer.”

Police reached the crime scene after the shooting was over. About six ambulances arrived to provide medical assistance to the victims, reported CNN.
