A gas line explosion in the vicinity of the Purple Sage Road and Duff Lane intersection in Middleton triggered evacuations on Thursday morning. The Canyon County Sheriff’s Office initially issued an evacuation order for individuals within a four-mile radius of the intersection, urging them to leave the area. However, this evacuation order was rescinded around 11:40 a.m. on Thursday after authorities managed to shut off the gas supply.

Highway 44, located to the west of Star, has been temporarily closed due to the gas line explosion that occurred Thursday morning, as confirmed by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and avoid the affected area.
Officials have indicated that the gas supply has been successfully turned off, but additional information regarding the incident will be disseminated as it becomes available.
