California’s Merced County has become a hotbed for shooting incidents of late, as another similar incident shocked the residents on Saturday, October 9. A shooting incident on Friday night at the Santa Nella Market in Merced County left one person dead, in what was the night’s second such incident in the county.

According to the police authorities, the victim was a male juvenile who was killed in a shooting incident at the Santa Nella Market in Santa Nella on Friday night. It was reported to the police at around 7:30 pm on Friday. After the incident was reported, the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The Merced County Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident as they announced the death of the victim on Saturday afternoon. The incident is being treated as a homicide by the Sheriff’s deputies and residents with relevant information are being urged by the authorities to come forward.

The shooting took place in Joe’s Village Market in the 13000 block of Highway 33 in Santa Nella, which is a town in the San Joaquin Valley and east of the San Luis Reservoir in Merced County. The country also witnessed another shooting incident on early Saturday morning as four people with gunshot wounds were found in a parking structure across the street from the city hall.

One of the victims who were found in the parking structure died on the scene, however, the others were transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently being treated. The current status of their health has not been announced by the Merced Police Department.

The incident comes less than a week after an Indian-American family of four, including an eight-month-old child, were kidnapped and killed in Merced County. Their corpses were recovered from an orchard near the Indiana and Hutchinson roads, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said.
