Former vice president Mike Pence is all set to publish his autobiography titled, ‘So Help Me God,’ where he delves into the controversial period surrounding the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory, when his the-then boss, Donald Trump kept pushing him to overturn the results of the presidential race.

The Amazon bio of the book reads, “On January 6, 2021, as the president pressured him to overturn the election, a mob erected a gallows on Capitol Hill and its members chanted “Hang Mike Pence!” as they rampaged through the halls of Congress. The vice president refused to leave the Capitol, and once the riot was quelled, he reconvened Congress to complete the work of a peaceful transfer of power. So Help Me God is the chronicle of the events and people who forged Mike Pence’s character and led him to that historic moment.”

What is the book about?

The book is the life story of Pence. It deep dives into the people who have shaped his life, including his father, a Korean War combat veteran. It will also go into how he met his wife, Karen in college, his Christian faith, and his early political career.

But most importantly it will trace his relationship with Trump, from the time he met him in Indiana and saw how the latter connected with working-class voters to the spectacular manner in which it broke down after the 2020 election when a mob erected a gallows on Capitol Hill and chanted “Hang Mike Pence!” after been influenced by Trump.

The book details never-before-heard conversations between Pence and Trump in the days leading up to the Capitol riots where the former president called him a “wimp” for refusing to use his power to alter the results of the election, which he has time and again claimed as rigged.
