Miley Cyrus‘ parents Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus have called it quits for the third time in their nearly 28-year marriage.

The divorce application was filed by Tish in Williamson County, Tennessee on Wednesday, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to documents obtained by PEOPLE. In the filing, Tish said that she and her husband have not in more than two years.

The 54-year-old actress said that the couple have not “cohabited as man and wife for a continuous period of more than two years,” adding that she requests for an “equitable division and distribution of all marital assets.”

Tish also filed a restraining order for their marital property, which prevents both her and Billy Ray from transferring or concealing any of their assets. It is also mentioned in the filing that the duo must avoid harassing one another or making disparaging remarks in the presence of their children.

Tish and Billy Ray, 60, got married in 1993. In addition to Miley, 29, they are parents to Braison, 27, and Noah, 22. Tish also has two kids, Brandi, 34, and Trace, 33, from her previous marriage to Baxter Neal Helson.

The duo have been on-again, off-again as they have filed for divorce two more times before this. In October 2010, Billy Ray filed divorce papers.

“As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” they said in a joint statement at the time. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”

However, the filing was dropped in March 2011.

“I’ve dropped the divorce,” the Hannah Montana alum said during an appearance on The View at the time. “I want to put my family back together… Things are the best they’ve ever been.”

Two years later, in 2013, they filed for divorce again. “This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family,” Billy Ray said in a statement at the time. “We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
