Every aspect of 28-year-old Audrey Hale’s life is being scrutinized after they walked into the Covenant elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday and shot dead 3 children and 3 adults before being killed by the police.

Hale, who was transgender and identified as a man, was a graphic artist and illustrator, who maintained their own website before carrying out the deadly mass shooting. Among their digital sketches was the drawing of The Shining. It is a re-imagination of Jack Nicholson as Jack Torrance from Stanley Kubrick’s famed 1980 horror movie. The drawing focused on the actor’s crazed look as he stares out the window.

The drawing also included the notorious phrase “REDRUM,” which is “MURDER” spelled backward. The phrase is heavily featured in the film and prominently displayed in Hale’s art. The rest of the digital drawing included quotes and phrases from The Shining.
