Following the release of the first teaser and poster for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder, returning star Natalie Portman (who was most recently seen in Marvel Studios’ Thor: The Dark World and briefly in Marvel Studios‘ Avengers: Endgame) has her own thoughts on what audiences might expect.

Jane Foster has returned, but this time she is also taking on the role of Thor: Mighty Thor. She uploaded her own poster on Instagram, not wanting to give Chris Hemsworth all of the attention right now.

“And you thought you were the one and only…” she writes, adding an upside-down happy emoji as well.

However, his retirement is cut short by a galactic assassin known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who desires the annihilation of the gods. To counteract the menace, Thor enlists the assistance of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who, to Thor’s amazement, wields his mystical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

They embark on a perilous cosmic journey together to solve the secret of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Taika Waititi returns to direct Thor: Love and Thunder, which is produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum. The film is set to release on July 8, 2022.
