According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, Indiana Pacers are pursuing Rick Carlisle for a $29 million deal, binding him for four years. Carlisle was sacked by Indiana after two disappointing seasons (2006 and 2007). The 61-year-old then joined Dallas Mavericks, where he stayed for 13 years. The Mavericks made the playoffs nine times and won the championship in 2010-11 under Carlisle.

After winning the title, Mavericks failed to get out of the first round the very next season. Reportedly, after some indifference with the players, he was fired this year.
