The official trailer for the fourth instalment of Keanu Reeves’ Matrix franchise is finally here and so are the early reactions.

Neo is back, and so is Trinity!

Both Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are back in their iconic roles along with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson, Daniel Bernhardt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Christina Ricci and Jonathan Groff as part of the movie cast.

The movie, directed by Lana Wachowski, will hit cinemas across the US on December 22, 2021 and will drop on HBO Max via the ad-free plan on the same day but only for 31days.

Movie fanatics were on top of their reaction-game as soon as the trailer was released.

Twitter users shared their theories on Neo’s return and expressed their first responses to the new storyline while emphasising on the importance of having watched the first three films in the series to enjoy the fourth one to the fullest.

“YES I am an apologist for the 2nd and 3rd Matrix films BUT seriously you should go watch them back to back before Matrix 4 because they are good! And much easier to understand watched in quick succession,” said visual journalist AJ Chavar (@ajchavar).

“Please support my ballot measure to legally require that Laurence Fishburne appear in The Matrix 4,” said former journalist Ned Resnikoff (resnikoff).

Social media expert Lance Ulanoff is of the view that the fourth part is going to be pretty good.

“Call me crazy, but The Matrix 4: Resurrections looks like it’s going to be very, very good,” Ulanoff said.
