One person was stabbed at McDonald’s located at MLK Jr Avenue and East Industry Drive. Customers are not allowed inside as law enforcement officers search the area. A second incident occurred at the Lewis Street Walmart supercenter, and a third attack happened on Belle Street.
Around 10:30 a.m., Chopper 11 flew over each scene. The McDonald’s was shut down, there was a police cruiser outside, and the side entry had what looked like water splashed all around it. The remaining scenes were cleaned up.

None of the three stabbing victims’ conditions have been made public. They were all sent to nearby hospitals outside of Granville County.
Investigators were able to find the suspect’s car on Interstate 85 South after receiving a description of it. After chasing it, they were able to catch the suspect, who was later brought to the Granville County Detention Center to face charges. At this moment, their name has not been made public. Oxford Police Chief Pat Ford said that all of the knifings appeared to be random – but an investigation is underway to determine the motive.
“It was just somebody may have had a bad day, may have been a mental health crisis, but we’re working diligently with the DA’s office and local law enforcement to find out what occurred,” Granville County Sheriff Robert Fountain Jr. said.
