North Korea’s Kim Jong Un wants to strengthen his country’s military “in every way to annihilate the enemy,” state media reported on Friday, as new satellite tv for pc imagery confirmed increased preps for a potential nuclear test.

Kim’s remarks were made throughout picture classes with troops, state media broadcasters. He also said this in a large army parade staged on Monday, which marked the ninetieth anniversary of the military’s founding.

The parade included a number of the North’s newest missiles, together with its largest intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), the Hwasong-17. It also included the examined hypersonic missile.

The show demonstrated the “modernity, heroism and radical development of the armed forces of the Republic and their matchless military and technological superiority,” Kim advised troops on the session, state information company KCNA reported.

Despite saying that the country prepares its weapons for self-defence, at Monday’s parade Kim mentioned the mission of its nuclear power goes past deterring struggle.

Last month North Korea resumed testing its largest ICBMs.

“Current satellite imagery indicates that preparations are well underway and should not be discounted as insignificant activity,” the U.S.-based Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) mentioned in a report on Thursday.

South Korean and US officers, along with analysts have mentioned that the North seems to be restoring Tunnel No. 3 at its Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site. This site was used for underground nuclear blasts earlier. It was closed in 2018 amid denuclearisation talks with Washington and Seoul.

“The date of a seventh nuclear test will undoubtedly depend exclusively upon the personal decision of Kim Jong Un,” the report mentioned.

Earlier this week, Kim vowed to bolster his nuclear forces at “maximum speed.” It said it would launch a missile if provoked.

State media photos showed Kim, dressed in a white military ceremonial coat, at a balcony along with his wife Ri Sol Ju and other top deputies.
