What do we know about the suspect?
The suspect, a 31-year-old West African national who has lived legally in the UK since he was a teenager and has experienced mental health problems, was apprehended by police. According to reports, the focus of the inquiry into the rampage has shifted away from whether or not it was motivated by terrorism and onto the suspect’s mental health.
It is believed that the man, who is being questioned in connection with three deaths and the injuries of three others, had no prior criminal history but was well-known to authorities. It’s still unclear what specifically sparked the vicious attack on several random people in the early hours. According to eyewitnesses, the man had dreadlocks and was regarded as having settled status in the UK after arriving as a teenager.

The death of a second male, thought to be 54 years old, was discovered near Magdala Road at around 5.30 in the morning, according to Chief Constable Kate Meynell. He had also been stabbed.
Officials said that after stabbing three victims, the attacker stole the older victim’s van and attempted to drive over three others on Milton Street. While two people had minor injuries, one was sent to the hospital in critical condition right afterward.
