A video tape reveals that the New York City architect detained in connection with the infamous “Gilgo Four” murders boasted about his career in an interview given more than ten years after the suspected deaths.
Rex Heuermann discussed his career with his own architecture firm, where he worked with clients like American Airlines and Catholic Charities, in a video published by Bonjour Realty last year.
Heuermann, 59, said the journalist, “I’ve been working in Manhattan since 1987.”
The clip was posted on Feb. 17, 2022, more than 11 years after the bodies of four women were found wrapped in burlap along Ocean Parkway near Gilgo Beach in December 2010.
The so-called “Gilgo Four” – Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Lynn Costello, Maureen Brainard-Barnes, and Megan Waterman – had all been strangled, and are believed to have been murdered between 2007 and 2010.
The Gilgo Beach murders, also known as the Long Island Serial Killer case, refer to a series of unsolved murders and disappearances of individuals in the vicinity of Gilgo Beach, Long Island, New York. The case, which has spanned over a decade, has captured public attention and raised significant concerns about the safety of vulnerable individuals, particularly sex workers.
