Court documents show that a man who is accused of participating in the violent riots at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, had a Lego model of the United States legislative building, but was not fully constructed, according to US media reports.

Channing Phillips, the acting US Attorney General of the District of Columbia, said that the Lego set, which consisted of more than 1,000 loose pieces, was found by federal authorities in a box, according to reports from the Washington Examiner.

However, in early July, few federal prosecutors reported that the US Capitol building made of Lego blocks was found in a “fully constructed” state by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The set was seized from Robert Morss, a 27-year-old accused of participating in the violent riots.

US Attorney Phillips said in a statement, “Please note that after a review of the photographs from the search, there appears to have been a miscommunication and that statement appears to be inaccurate”, according to reports from the Washington Examiner. “The Lego set was in a box and not fully constructed at the time of the search”, the statement added.

Morss, who is being represented by lawyers of the Federal Community Defender Office, is currently held in the custody of law enforcement officials and is faces a multitude of charges, which include, resisting or impeding officers, assaulting, robbery of US property among many others, according to reports from the Washington Examiner. The 27-year-old was also in possession of multiple firearms, including a shotgun and a rifle, according to the prosecuting attorneys.

More than 500 people across the United States currently face charges from federal prosecutors relating to the violence at the Capitol complex, which claimed multiple lives.

Former US President Donald Trump, whose supporters made up the crowds that stormed the capitol, was accused of incitement of violence after the January 6 attacks.
