Melania Trump on Monday (US local time) gave a farewell speech to America, saying it was “the greatest honour” of her life to serve as the First Lady of the United States.

Talking about the COVID-19 pandemic, Melania thanked “all the nurses, doctors, healthcare professionals, manufacturing workers, truck drivers, and so many others”, who are working to save people’s lives in the health emergency.

“I ask all Americans to use caution and common sense to protect the vulnerable as millions of vaccines are now being delivered,” Melania said while talking about peoples, “grieving for the families” who have lost loved ones due to the pandemic.

Melania, without referring to anything or the January 6 US Capitol event, said, “Be passionate in everything you do but always remember that violence is never the answer and will never be justified.”

Calling on the Americans to come together, the First Lady said, “The promise of this nation belongs to all of us. Do not lose sight of your integrity and values. Use every opportunity to show consideration for another person and build good habits into your daily lives.”

“In all circumstances, I ask every American to be an ambassador of Be Best. To focus on what unites us. To rise above what divides us. To always choose love over hatred, peace over violence, and others before yourself.”

Melania, along with outgoing President Donald Trump, will not be attending the inauguration of Joe Biden. She will be breaking a 100-year-old tradition for outgoing First Ladies, as several media outlets report that Melania will not be giving her successor Jill Biden a tour of the family wing of the White House.
