Taking a clear lesson from the success of Peter Jackson’s recent “The Beatles: Get Back” documentary, Paul McCartney has announced his “Got Back” tour, a 13-city, 14-show trek through the United States that kicks out in just over two months.
“At the end of the last tour, I promised I’d see you again. I said I was going to get back to you. Well, I got back,” McCartney stated in a press release announcing the spring tour, which will be his first since he went on a 39-city tour in 2019.

The tour will take place in both stadiums and arenas. One of the former is a May 13 show at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, marking his return to the area after a spectacular visit at Dodger Stadium at the end of his 2019 tour.
A handful of gigs occur in towns where McCartney has never performed previously, beginning with the tour’s opening night at the Spokane Arena. Apart from Washington, McCartney is said to be performing live in three other cities: Hollywood, Florida, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

He’ll also visit a couple cities that may feel overdue for a McCartney performance: Baltimore, where he hasn’t performed since the Beatles passed through in 1964; Fort Worth, where he last performed with the “Wings Over America” tour in 1976; and Oakland, where he last visited 20 years ago.
The venerable Fenway Park in Boston and the spanking new Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, the only place with a two-night stand, are among the other notable venues.
The tour concludes on June 16 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, at MetLife Stadium, which hasn’t had to wait as long as some of the other towns; he last performed there in 2016.

His “Got Back” tour comes to a close just in time for whatever birthday celebrations he may have planned. McCartney will turn 80 two days after the final date, on June 18.
The general public can purchase tickets one week from now, on February 25, at 10 am local time. American Express cardholders can participate in a presale beginning Tuesday at 10 a.m. and ending Thursday at 10 p.m.
