As the president’s reelection team ramps up its advertising presence and looks to counter the GOP messaging on show tonight, the campaign for President Joe Biden plans to air an advertisement during Fox News’ coverage of the debate.
According to AdImpact data, the campaign reserved nearly $250,000 worth of national space on Fox News today, a costly booking that reflects the high-profile opportunity.
This week, the campaign has reserved a total of $1.2 million in advertising, and the DNC is also deploying billboards and a plane across Milwaukee, the site of the first Republican presidential primary.

Biden’s reelection campaign unveiled plans to invest $25 million in a significant new ad campaign earlier this week and debuted three new ads praising the accomplishments of his administration.
Tonight in Milwaukee, eight Republican presidential contenders will face off in debates, competing to be the party’s top challenger to front-runner Donald Trump.
The former president made the decision to abstain because of his ongoing legal issues.
In the battle for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump is far ahead. The former president is performing so much better in the polls than the opposition that he won’t even attend the debate in Milwaukee tonight.
But the majority of Republicans have been reluctant to challenge the front-runner.
Republican supporters prefer Trump’s opponents to argue for their own candidatures rather than taking on the former president in the first debate, according to a nearly overwhelming majority of Republican voters.
This is supported by polling on candidates’ support from Republican voters. Former governors of New Jersey Chris Christie, Texas Rep. Will Hurd, and Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson, three of the most vocal Trump detractors, all have low net favorability ratings among Republicans.
Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, who is currently running third in Iowa, and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who has moved up to third in the national polls, have both mostly refrained from criticising Trump.
