American actor Rachel Zegler seems to have joined the rest of us who plan on relishing the Oscars on a couch, wearing a pair of sweatpants.
Zegler, whose musical drama ‘West Side Story’ was nominated for a best picture Academy Award, recently revealed that she won’t be attending the star-studded event.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old actor shared a series of images on her official Instagram handle along with the caption “a quarter of the year well spent.”
When one Instagram user wrote, “Can’t wait to see what you’ll be wearing on Oscar night,” Zegler revealed that she was “not invited”, adding that she will be watching the event in sweatpants and her beau Josh Andres Rivera’s flannel.

“Idk y’all I have tried it all but it doesn’t seem to be happening :’) I will root for West Side Story from my couch and be proud of the work we so tirelessly did 3 years ago,” she went on to say.
“I hope some last-minute miracle occurs and I can celebrate our film in person but hey, that’s how it goes sometimes, I guess,” Zegler added.
“Thanks for all the shock and outrage – I’m disappointed too. But that’s okay. So proud of our movie,” she concluded.
