According to law enforcement officials, all the injured victims have sustained non-life-threatening wounds.

Chad Martin, Jefferson School District Superintendent, defined the incident as “the worst nightmare a school district could encounter” while further giving reassurance that the threat to the remaining students was neutralised and the suspect was “apprehended”, according to USA Today.

Less than a month ago, a similar school shooting was reported in Austin-East Magnet High School in Tennessee. The incident resulted in the death of one person.
