Two Georgia preschool teachers, Soriana Briceno and Zeina Alostwani, were taken into custody for child abuse after they were allegedly caught on camera abusing children in the classroom

According to a press release from the Rosewell Police Department, an investigation into the incident began on June 3 after a parent reached out to them to share her concern about her child’s safety.

“On June 03, 2022, the Roswell Police Department was contacted by a concerned parent at the Parker-Chase Preschool at 2852 Holcomb Bridge Rd. That parent reported logging onto the camera system and seeing concerning physical contact between Alostwani and Briceno against several children in the classroom,” the release stated.

Following an investigation, both teachers were taken into custody on June 6 and booked into the Fulton County Jail without incident.

Meanwhile, an 80-seconds long video clip released by the police department shows a group of children sitting on the floor inside a classroom. A woman can then be seen bumping one of the students in the back with her knee before the other teacher uses her finger to push the student’s head back.

Gloria Barghi, whose 3-year-old son was in the classroom when the incident took place, said she had a “weird” feeling that she needed to check on her child.

“I just told my husband, I said, ‘Call it mother’s intuition.’ I just want to see if he’s OK,'” Barghi told WSB-TV.

“I pulled up the app. I picked it up right when the lead teacher was assaulting the first victim. It was intentional. It was thought out. It was malicious … these are defenseless little kids,” she added.

In an email to parents, the preschool said they have reported the incident to authorities and plan to fully cooperate with investigators.

“We were shocked to learn late in the day yesterday that teachers in the Pre-Primary B classroom were reported to have used inappropriate disciplinary actions with children. Our investigation is ongoing as we are taking this matter very seriously,” the school said.
