An apparent shark attack in the Florida Everglades was seen on camera on Friday, dragging the victim out of his fishing boat after biting him.

The man was reportedly washing his hand in murky water when the shark crossed the surface and grabbed hold of him, according to the accounts. Then, while his fellow fishermen struggled to drag him back on deck, it yanked him overboard. As they struggled to pull the man from the shark-infested water, they could be heard shouting, “Get him!”

Wildlife authorities are currently employing this video footage to educate people who go fishing to take some simple safety procedures when on the water. One fishing guide who posted the video to Instagram included the message, “PSA: Please don’t make the same mistake and please keep your hands and feet in the vessel.”

Though the exact species of shark that bit the victim is unknown, it is known that the Everglades are home to the bull shark, a medium-sized predatory shark that can live in both freshwater and saltwater environments. According to the National Wildlife Foundation, bull sharks are frequently regarded as the sharks that are most dangerous to people due to their aggressive characteristics.
