Multiple people were shot at Sinnissippi Park in Rockford, Illinois, on Saturday, authorities said. 

“Shooting Investigation at Sinnissipppi Park with multiple victims. On-going investigation. Please avoid the area,” the Rockford Police Department tweeted. 

The condition of the victims was not known and it was clear if ay arrests have been made so far in connection with the shooting.

This was the second shooting to have been reported so far this weekend in Rockford.

A 25-year-old female succumbed to injuries early Saturday. Deputies with the Rockford Police Department responded to the 600 block of Horsman and found the woman with a gunshot wound. She succumbed to injuries a few hours later. 

“The 25-year-old female from the shooting on Horsman has passed away from her injuries. More details will follow when available,” the Rockford Police Department tweeted.
